Duties Description PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Licensed Psychologist community/forensic clinically supervises and manages the activities of the doctoral and master's level psychologists for the Sunmount DDSO community residences and provides extensive regulatorily required supervisory and evaluation services. The incumbent also provides a full range of psychological services, training, and consultation services to clinical teams, direct support staff, and individuals as needed. Finally, the incumbent will conduct a small number of forensic evaluations for individuals residing on the Sunmount campus and testify in court to support those evaluations as needed.


• Provides technical assistance and direction, and reviews/approves legally required documentation\
• Provides immediate legally required supervision and ongoing training for all campus-based psychologists from the trainee to doctoral level, as well as training for direct support staff members
• Participates as a legally required licensed psychologist on the Sunmount human rights committee which reviews behavior support plans, behavior analysis plans, and all restrictive interventions.
• Conducts legally required evaluations, including cognitive, developmental, guardianship competency, risk, suitability and all other forensic or clinical assessments
• Participates in additional committees, i.e. risk management, special review committee.
• Samples and reviews management of cases, assignments, case problems, issues and methods of treatment by clinical team staff
• Participates in Statewide Forensic Advisory and Statewide Forensic Admissions committees.
• Participates in statewide psychology supervision and collaboration calls
• Participates as needed in after-hours coverage rotations for emergent needs such as end of life care, campus sign-outs, etc.
• Completes forensic evaluations such as 730, Article 15, and 330 evaluations as needed
• Attends court proceedings and testifies as legally required
• Assists in legally mandated tracking of behavioral data
• Assists in the training, implementation and ongoing utilization of the Electronic Health Record
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications Candidates must be licensed and currently registered by New York State as a Licensed Psychologist.


Additional Comments This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment. This means that you do not need to take an exam to qualify, but you do need to meet the minimum qualifications of the title.

At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their permanent non-competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status. You will not have to take an exam to gain permanent competitive status.

• Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 25 ($96,336), Increased hiring rate ($25,077), and Geographic Pay Differential ($20,000). The Geographic Pay Differential is also applied to the posted Job Rate ($121,413).

• If you are currently a New York State employee serving in a permanent competitive qualifying title and eligible for a transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, you may be appointed to this title as a permanent competitive employee.


• The assignment of PS&T employees will be made in accordance with any agreed upon Memorandum of Understanding between PEF and the local DDSO regarding the posting of job vacancies.
