An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated Occupational Therapist passionate about supporting students’ growth and independence within an educational setting. This contract position is located in Wake County, spanning across several western schools from elementary to high school. Working in a dynamic, collaborative team, you will play a vital role in assessing, planning, and implementing tailored interventions that directly impact student success.

Ideal candidates will bring:

• Valid Occupational Therapist license from the North Carolina Board of Occupational Therapy (NCBOT)
• Completion of a post-graduate degree in Occupational Therapy (Master’s degree preferred)
• Documented school-based experience; North Carolina school experience is highly valued
• Proven expertise in developing and implementing IEPs, along with comprehensive experience using ECATS
• Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough motor screenings, standardized OT evaluations, and interpret results in the school context
• Familiarity with the Sensory Processing Measure–2 (SPM-2) and Sensory Profile 2
• Up-to-date NPI number, NC Tracks registration (can be obtained prior to start)
• Willingness to undergo DCDEE fingerprinting and background checks as required by the district

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing a varied caseload across multiple school sites, with weekly hours often reaching up to 40
• Collaborating closely with educators, families, and IEP teams to support student participation and progress according to educational standards
• Providing expert documentation of services and continuous monitoring of student outcomes
• Using a workload model, regularly reassessing and balancing responsibilities to optimize impact
