Corporate Counsel

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and execution-focused Corporate Counsel to support ADF’s consumer finance business. This role is ideal for a legal professional who thrives in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and takes ownership of delivering accurate, timely, and consistent legal and compliance work.

In this role, you will manage core legal workflows, applying established frameworks and sound judgment to support business operations while identifying and escalating risk appropriately. Your work will directly enable senior legal leadership to focus on complex and strategic matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct initial review of standard contracts (NDAs, vendor agreements, data processing and security addenda, SOWs, amendments, and order forms)
• Identify non-standard or higher-risk terms and escalate as needed
• Support compliance and audit activities, including responses, documentation, and tracking
• Manage multistate consumer finance licensing (renewals, filings, surety bonds, and deadlines)
• Support regulatory examinations, including documentation and drafting responses
• Maintain and update policies and procedures to reflect evolving regulations
• Own legal and regulatory tracking and documentation, ensuring alignment with internal controls
• Monitor federal and state legal developments and support implementation
• Conduct legal research and deliver clear, actionable summaries
• Independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active bar membership in good standing
• 4–6 years of post-bar experience
• Experience in a combination of law firm and in-house setting preferred
• Experience in consumer finance, regulatory, compliance, or transactional work preferred
