Trumbull Industries, Inc., is currently seeking to fill the role of Maintenance/Safety Technician for our Master Distribution Center (MDC) in Warren, Ohio. This position requires the ability to perform all functions related to maintaining our building, grounds and material handling equipment. Additionally, this position will be responsible for supporting and promoting our Health and Safety programs at the MDC by using their experience to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace and engage employees in the development of a strong health and safety culture.

• Extensive use of hand tools, portable tools, test equipment, forklifts, ladders, work platforms, shovels, rakes, hand tools, jack hammers, concrete saws, and an extensive array of other material handling equipment.
• Perform general building maintenance with respect to electrical, remodeling, plumbing, welding, roofing, masonry, heating and cooling, painting.
• Maintain outside grounds with necessary landscaping, equipment, chemicals.
• Maintain dock plates and do trouble shooting and minor repair on all overhead bridge cranes.
• Troubleshoot and repair sewers, septic system, sprinkler system, and trash compactor.

• Material Handling Equipment Battery maintenance
• Collaborate with HR and Operations to enhance workplace safety culture and encourage proactive hazard identification.
• Coordinate with Warehouse team to maintain Safety Program and respective policies.
• Conduct safety inspections at all Trumbull Industries warehouse facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
• Assist with worker’s compensation activities, including investigating incidents.
• Create and deliver safety training programs, including new hire orientation, compliance training, and specialized initiatives for all hourly employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Must possess a valid driver's license

Skills & Abilities

• Five (5) years of experience in General Industry and warehouse environment is preferred.
• Ability to be available for safety-related incidents on weekends, holidays, and night shift as needed.
• Knowledge of working with OSHA and state/local regulations and requirements.
• Strong leadership, coaching and relationship building skills with all levels of employees
• Must be comfortable working in a team setting.
• Positive attitude, self-driven, strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated effectiveness in accomplishing goals.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• OSHA 10-Hour certification (OSHA-30 certification preferred).

Physical Abilities

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Capable of walking on variable surfaces for extended durations
• Proficient in climbing stairs and/or ladders
• Aptitude for lifting and moving equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
