Angel, OR 97362 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $25.00 - $30.00 Hourly Travel Percentage: Road Warrior Job Shift: Day Summary This position is responsible for overseeing the inspection, installation, testing, and commissioning of field equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements. The Field Equipment Inspector/Installation Supervisor coordinates daily field activities, supervises installation crews, verifies quality control procedures, and ensures work is completed on schedule. This role requires a high level of mechanical competency and the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve field installation and equipment issues efficiently. The position involves a significant amount of travel, including the potential for international travel, and requires the ability to safely operate a company vehicle. In addition, the role requires preparing detailed field observation and inspection reports using company‑provided templates, including taking photographs in the field and importing them into Word documents to support documentation and reporting requirements. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in basic computer applications. The ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and technical documentation is highly advantageous and will support successful execution of installation and inspection activities. Job Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and oversee the installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning of field equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications, company standards, and safety requirements. Coordinate daily field activities with project managers, contractors, subcontractors, client representatives, and team members to support efficient project execution. Conduct field inspections to verify equipment installation quality, operational readiness, and adherence to mechanical and technical requirements. Identify, troubleshoot, and communicate mechanical or installation deficiencies and assist in developing corrective actions. Monitor job progress and assure work is completed safely, on schedule, and within project scope. Prepare detailed field inspection and observation reports using company‑provided templates. Take photographs and incorporate images into Word documents and other reporting materials to document project status, findings, and deficiencies. Maintain accurate records of inspections, installations, corrective actions, and project activities. Safely operate a company vehicle while traveling to project sites and customer locations. Travel extensively to domestic and international project locations as required by project needs. Communicate effectively with internal teams, customers, and field personnel regarding project updates, technical issues, and installation status. Review and interpret mechanical drawings, equipment layouts, technical manuals, and project documentation to support installation and inspection activities. Ensure compliance with company safety policies, customer requirements, and applicable industry regulations at all job sites. Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on installation processes, field challenges, and equipment performance. Maintain professionalism and represent the company positively while working at customer and project sites. Perform other duties as assigned. Take clear and relevant photographs and properly incorporate them into Word documents and reporting packages. Maintain clear, effective, and professional communication with customers, contractors, project managers, and team members. Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also collaborating effectively as part of a team. Read, interpret, and apply information from mechanical drawings, technical documents, and equipment manuals. Adapt to changing job site conditions, schedules, and project priorities in a fast‑paced field environment. Exercise sound judgement and problem‑solving skills when identifying and addressing mechanical issues or installation concerns. Maintain accurate documentation and records related to inspections, installations, safety observations, and project activities. Represent the company positively and maintain strong customer relationships while on‑site and during travel. Maintain proficiency with basic computer programs, including Microsoft Word, email, and digital photo management. Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance. Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation. Respectfully take direction from manager. Qualifications Education Requirement High School Diploma/GED equivalent. Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus but not required. Technical certifications in mechanical systems, industrial maintenance, or related trades (e.g., millwright, machinist, or HVAC certifications preferred). Ongoing continuing education or training in safety standards (e.g., OSHA), food industry regulations (e.g., GMP), or equipment‑specific is preferred. Skills Requirement Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on understanding of equipment installation, operation, and troubleshooting. Ability to supervise field installation activities and coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, and project personnel. Knowledge of field inspection procedures, quality control practices, and job safety standards. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, technical manuals, and equipment documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear, detailed, and professional field reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Outlook, and basic Excel functions. Ability to take clear field photographs and incorporate images into Word document reporting templates. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and project deadlines. Effective problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills in field and construction environments. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions in the field. Ability to travel extensively, including overnight, out‑of‑state, and international travel as required. Valid driver’s license with the ability to safely operate a company vehicle. Ability to adapt to changing project conditions, schedules, and customer requirements. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in inspections, documentation, and reporting. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers, coworkers, and project stakeholders. Basic understanding of construction practices, industrial equipment, or mechanical systems preferred. Ability to work in various field environments, including construction sites, industrial facilities, and outdoor conditions. Physical ability to walk job sites, climb ladders or stairs, lift moderate weights, and perform field inspection activities are required. Experience 3-5 years of experience in field equipment installation, mechanical inspection, construction supervision, industrial maintenance, or a related field. Prior experience supervising field crews, contractors, or installation activities preferred. Experience preparing field reports, inspection documentation, and project records required. Experience working with mechanical systems, industrial equipment, or construction‑related projects is strongly preferred. Previous experience interpreting mechanical drawings, blueprints, or technical documentation is advantageous. Experience working in travel‑based or multi‑site field service environments preferred. International project or travel experience is considered a plus. Experience using Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Outlook, required. Experience documenting field activities with digital photographs and incorporating them into reports preferred. Familiarity with safety regulations, job site protocols, and quality control procedures preferred. Physical Requirements Standing – 6-8 hours per day. Walking – >2 hours per day.
