Activity Therapist / CTRS

Job Details Location: Meadowview Behavioral Hospital, Peoria, IL 61615 Position Type: Full-Time/Part-Time Salary Range: $29.00 – $34.00 hourly Job Shift: Any Responsibilities Observe and apply sound judgment in patients’ physical and mental conditions and needs. Document and communicate changes in patients’ appearance, behavior, and ability to work toward treatment plan goals. Provide an assessment of psychosocial/leisure and recreational skills development/deficiency. Assist patients in achieving their optimum level of independent functioning. Plan and implement activity therapy for the assigned patient caseload within the facility. Model and teach patients appropriate social, coping, and stress‑management techniques; contribute to treatment plans with specific goals and therapeutic interventions. Qualifications Education & Licensure: Bachelor's Degree in occupational therapy, art, music, recreational therapy, humanities, or movement therapy; Master’s degree preferred. Certification or licensure by the state of Illinois and/or national governing body in art, occupational, recreation, or music therapy (CTRS). Experience: Minimum one (1) year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness preferred. Additional Skill Requirements: Successful completion of CPR certification and CPI within 30 days of employment. Ability to work overtime and flexible hours.
