Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) – Operating Room

Shift: Evenings (11:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | 8-Hour Shifts

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join a busy Operating Room team. The ideal candidate will have strong orthopedic and robotic surgery experience, excellent sterile technique, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment. This role includes weekday, weekend, holiday, and on-call responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment.
• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
• Perform scrub duties with precision and efficiency throughout surgical cases.
• Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are cleaned, sterilized, and functioning properly.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team to promote safe and efficient procedures.
• Assist with patient preparation before surgery under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Follow all hospital and departmental policies, safety standards, and infection prevention protocols.
• Support departmental operations and assist with additional duties as assigned.
• May be asked to precept and mentor new staff members.
• Respond to on-call assignments and be able to arrive within 30 minutes when called.

Minimum Requirements

• Completion of an accredited Certified Surgical Technologist program.
• Active CST certification (Required).
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum recent Operating Room experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Previous travel assignment experience (Required).
• Orthopedic surgery experience (Required).
• Scrubbing experience (Required).
• Da Vinci robotic surgery experience (Required).
• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile processing, sterilization, and infection control practices.
