Required Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years ofage at the time of application
High school diploma, GEDcertification or equivalent
A valid drivers license

Preferred Qualifications

Two years working experiencein law enforcement dispatching
Louisiana POST Certification

Responsibilities

Adhere to the policies andprocedures of the Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Office.
Maintain professionalconduct at all times.
Answer multiple phone linesprofessionally from a variety of sources including 911.
Transferring calls to thenecessary department or individual
Handle all radio traffic andlogging information in computer-aided dispatch (CAD), monitor GPS vehicletracking system, and deputies working off-duty details.
Input and receiveinformation from NCIC
Report all unusualoccurrences, accidents, or safety hazards to supervisors
Strictly adhere to policiessafeguarding confidentiality

Benefits

The minimum hourly rate ofpay for this position is $13.61/hr
Postsecondary education andLaw enforcement or Dispatch experience will be taken under consideration inrespect to the hourly rate of pay.
Eligible for paid overtime
Employer paid Health,Vision, Dental and Life insurance for full time employees
Vacation and Sick time after1 year of continuous employment
Eligible for additionalleave when scheduled on an office holiday
