Contract | Nights (3x12-Hour Shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit with a primary oncology patient population, including administration of chemotherapy and biotherapy via IV, PO, or injection
• Manage and care for patients presenting with diagnoses such as AKI, sepsis, septic shock, cancer, encephalopathy, diabetic foot ulcers, and malignant neoplasms
• Perform specialized nursing procedures including central line blood draws, PICC line management, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), wound care and wound vac, surgical drain management, and blood product administration
• Maintain accurate documentation and communication using EPIC, PYXIS, and SBAR protocols
• Float as required to similar inpatient units and alternate care locations, including inpatient holding in the ED
• Participate in storm, hurricane, and disaster response teams as assigned, which may include reporting during catastrophic events or mass casualty incidents

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in an inpatient Medical Surgical setting
• Active RN license in NC or a Compact state
• Active BLS certification
• Oncology certification required (must be able to administer chemotherapy)
• Proficiency in colostomy care, port access, peripheral line care, PICC line management, heparin and insulin drips, non-invasive airway management, nasal cannula, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification
• Charge nurse experience
• CPI certification
