The Mechanical Engineering group uses state-of-the-art tools, processes, technology, and Raytheon CORE principles. ME capabilities encompass a broad range of technical disciplines which include engineering, manufacturing, technical services, materials, processes, analysis, test and documentation.The Mechanical Analysis and Test Department (MA&T) is responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of all RMD Products. From the preliminary concept to fielded weapon support, MA&T delivers innovative and robust structural analysis solutions utilizing methods ranging from classical fundamental and proprietary empirically based techniques, to state of the art finite element methods and commercial computer codes; all complimented and validated by tests executed in a manner to ensure cost effective yet technically balanced solutions.This position is in Tucson, Arizona. The position is onsite.What You Will DoAct as a technical leader (help define/refine and/or develop MA&T department technical processes and tools) and/or lead analysis/test teamsSupport staffing requests to ensure all programs are staffed the appropriate personnel.Engage with team members to discuss performance and career developmentAssist with proposal preparation including estimating the scope of new engineering projects.Perform Hand Calculations to determine scope of higher detail analysis modelsPerform detailed analysis to solve diverse program structural challengesPerform peer reviews of all analysis to validate process and resultsDocument results according to Raytheon ME standardsDeliver results to customers (internal and external)Qualifications You Must HaveTypically requires Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics and 10+ years of experience OR in absence of a degree, 14 years of experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional 3 years of experience10 years of structural analysis experienceExperience in leadership of engineering teams driving technical and cost performanceExperience in structural dynamic analysis using PATRAN/NASTRAN or ANSYSActive and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.Qualifications We PreferAdvanced degree in aforementioned disciplines. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
