District Manager

Overview Reporting to the Director of Operations/VP of Operations, the Area Manager is responsible for 4–6 Tim Horton’s locations. The role includes achieving financial goals through building sales and controlling costs, maintaining food safety & brand standards, and training & developing restaurant teams to deliver high quality, service, and cleanliness to each guest. Area Managers are accountable for turnover and therefore must practice effective interviewing to hire qualified management candidates to begin as Managers in Training. The Area Manager is responsible for planning their calendar, scheduling required visits, and executing company routines on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Area managers report to the Director of Operations and coordinate with senior management across the company.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Leadership Skills: Keep employees motivated, resolve conflicts, and make hard decisions. Time Management: Coordinate visits across multiple stores, complete all managerial tasks, and maintain a direct impact on each store. Budgeting & Cost Controls: Ensure the region maintains budgets and controls costs (labor, inventory) through follow‑up, coaching, and action plan development. Analytical Skills: Analyze P&L categories, GUEST TRAC data, and sales history to provide guidance for improvement. Financials: Understand profit & loss statements and operations analytics that drive sales and revenues. Decision‑Making Skills: Own and execute hard, fast decisions. Speaking & Writing: Prepare reports, speak before executive management, and develop analyses for the region. Self‑discipline, initiative, leadership ability, and outgoing personality. Professional appearance: Pleasant, polite, clean, and neat. Team Motivation: Encourage employees to work collaboratively. Communication: Effectively interact with a diverse staff. Applicant Assessment: Determine the applicability of experience and qualifications of management applicants. Ownership & Value‑Add: Accept ownership for new and different requests and explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant (3+ years) experience in multi‑unit management. ServSafe Certificate required. Prior experience in restaurant and district management preferred. Minimum age 18 with a valid driver's license in good standing. Proof of insurance and access to private transportation. Access to a working phone line. Consent to background screening, including criminal and drug screening. Basic computer knowledge (MS Word and Excel). Willingness to travel for business purposes as needed.WE OFFER
