Opportunity Overview

Our customer is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop high-performance enclosures, housings, and components for machine vision lighting solutions . This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong mechanical design experience who enjoys taking products from concept through prototype, validation, and production.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams to deliver reliable, production-ready designs.

What You'll Do

• Design mechanical enclosures, housings, brackets, and components for LED-based machine vision lighting products
• Create and modify 3D CAD models using SolidWorks and 3DExperience
• Apply DFM/DFA principles, tolerance analysis, material selection, sealing, and thermal design practices
• Develop prototypes and support testing, validation, and product improvements
• Create and maintain CAD models, drawings, BOMs, specifications, and engineering documentation
• Partner with electrical, optical, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams throughout product development
• Support engineering changes, supplier communication, compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of mechanical product design experience
• Strong SolidWorks experience; 3DExperience knowledge preferred
• Experience designing precision enclosures, electronics packaging, or similar products
• Experience with prototyping, testing, validation, 2D drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation
• Knowledge of DFM/DFA, tolerance stack-up, sheet metal, die casting, injection molding, aluminum extrusion, and sealing design principles
• Familiarity with ECR/ECO processes, APQP, IP ratings, CE, UL, or RoHS preferred
• Strong communication, problem-solving, collaboration, and supplier management skills
