Heavy Equipment MechanicJP Logistics & Consulting LLC (JPLC) is seeking a talented Heavy Equipment Mechanic to work in a unique, dynamic environment.Location: Tyndall AFB, FLJob Start Date: April 1, 2027Hours of Operation: 07:00 AM - 4:00 PM – May be required to work outside normal hoursSalary: $27.90 per hourScope: The Heavy Equipment Mechanic must be an automotive technician (e.g., mechanics, service technicians) and shall possess current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in medium/heavy duty truck specialty or possess 3 years' experience in medium/heavy duty vehicle maintenance. The employee shall provide a minimum of 1 individual with a Class A Commercial Driver's license as required to haul equipment/attachments when needed for maintenance purposes. Perform additional duties as required.The Heavy Equipment Mechanic analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains power equipment, such as cranes, power shovels, scrapers, paving machines, motor graders, trench-digging machines, conveyors, bulldozers, dredges, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools. This worker operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools, examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges, replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions, and tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic welds broken parts and structural members, may direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment, and may repair, adjust, and maintain mining machinery, such as stripping and loading shovels, drilling and cutting machines, and continuous mining machines.Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Provide preventative maintenance and repairs on the following vehicles, but not limited to:General Purpose & Base Maintenance/ConstructionNon-Registered EquipmentMilitary Design vehiclesFire TrucksQualifications:ASE CertifiedHigh School diploma or equivalentRequirements:Must be a US Citizen.Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.Must have experience in wiring, electronics, automotive mechanical repairs, welding, and machine shop fundamentals.Must be able to speak fluent English.Must possess a valid driver's license.Must obtain a favorable, trustworthy determination.Must pass pre-employment drug testing.Must be Flexible.Contingency Situations:Able to respond to certain after-hours work (additional workload, natural disasters, military peacetime and wartime contingency operations/exercises, serious accidents, civil disturbances, major mobilization, or repatriation of non-combatants) may necessitate the employee be flexible in arranging different levels of support, which may include overtime work.Work Environment and Physical Demands:Work is normally performed in office, garage, outside, and warehouse environments.
