CFO - Chief Financial Officer

We are looking for an experienced finance leader to step into a high-impact role with a manufacturing business in Canandaigua, New York. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a hands-on executive who can bring structure, visibility, and financial discipline to a growing organization while partnering closely with ownership on immediate priorities and long-range decisions. The position requires someone who can move comfortably between strategic leadership and day-to-day execution to strengthen cash flow, reporting accuracy, and operational finance.Responsibilities:• Take ownership of the company’s financial operations and create clear visibility into current performance, liquidity, and business risk.• Develop and maintain a rolling 13-week cash flow model to support short-term planning and improve working capital management.• Lead efforts to reduce outstanding receivables and payables by improving collection activity, billing workflows, and payment processes.• Rebuild confidence in the general ledger by resolving accounting issues, strengthening reconciliations, and supporting accurate financial data.• Establish a dependable month-end close process with stronger controls, reporting routines, and financial review practices.• Implement practical project and job costing methods that provide insight into profitability, margins, and operational performance.• Review the effectiveness of the finance and accounting team, identify capability gaps, and recommend organizational improvements.• Assess current business systems and workflows, including financial and inventory-related tools, and recommend changes once immediate stabilization priorities are addressed.• Advise ownership directly on financial condition, operational challenges, and corrective actions needed to support sustainable growth.
