Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – PRN

Position Summary

Southwestern Nursing and Rehab, PA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house therapy team . This full-time role supports our Occupational Therapists in delivering high-quality rehabilitative care that enhances residents’ independence, functional abilities, and overall quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in implementing individualized treatment plans

• Provide therapeutic exercises and activities to improve residents’ functional and daily living skills

• Accurately document treatments, progress notes, and resident responses in compliance with facility, state, and federal guidelines

• Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings and contribute to resident goal setting

• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on strategies to support independence and safety

• Maintain therapy equipment to ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper functioning

• Adhere to all regulatory, ethical, and facility standards of care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license/certification in good standing

• Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or rehabilitation setting preferred

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
