Technical Product Analyst Opportunity

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Technical Product Analyst position! This is a direct placement opportunity and will be onsite in Buffalo, New York. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Transform early-stage technical concepts into structured business assessments by collaborating with technical specialists, product teams, and engineering to develop market sizing, competitive positioning, customer value framing, and business case fundamentals (TCO, ROI, payback)
• Perform discovery with managers, process engineers, and operations leadership to validate assumptions and ground opportunities in real market demand
• Author Market Requirements Documents (MRDs) for prioritized opportunities, defining market problems, customer segments, use cases, competitive landscape, and success metrics for structured handoffs to product and engineering teams
• Conduct proactive research and stakeholder interviews across the organization to gather critical data and insights that inform opportunity assessments.
• Information won't be readily available, requiring strong communication skills to extract what's needed
• Deliver recommendations to your manager with rigorous analysis and risk assessment
• Maintain working knowledge of competitive offerings, pricing dynamics, and market trends across Mining & Industrial, Oil & Gas Drilling, Civil Construction, and adjacent verticals
• Build strong cross-functional relationships with technical, commercial, and operations teams while guiding engineers and product specialists in framing business questions

What You'll Need to Have:

• 3-5+ years in product management, product planning, business analysis, management consulting (especially industrial practices), or related disciplines that develop structured business judgment
• Technical background or mindset (engineering, science, or related technical discipline strongly preferred)
• The ideal candidate is an engineer looking to transition into business product development
• Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous opportunities and develop them into clear, decision-ready business assessments with minimal direction
• Excellent written communication skills, particularly in structured analytical documents including opportunity assessments, business cases, MRDs, and executive briefs
• Strong business acumen including comfort with market sizing, value-in-use logic, TCO/ROI fundamentals, competitive positioning, and prioritization trade-offs
• Self-directed and effective in ambiguity with the ability to independently structure problems, proactively gather information from across the organization, and bring well-framed recommendations forward
• Engineering or Technical degree along with Bachelors with business focus or MBA preferred but not required

Pay Range: $100,000 - $115,000
