Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job

Overview Registered Nurse – Med Surg/Telemetry (Travel) needed for a 13-week assignment in Rome, NY. The nurse will float to step-down as needed in a hospital setting. Start date 08/31/2026; guaranteed hours 36 per week; shift 3x12-hour days (7:00 AM–7:30 PM). Weekly pay ranges from $2,264 to $2,323. Every-other weekend and holiday coverage is required. Requires NYS RN license, BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification before start, with a minimum of two years of current MS/Telemetry experience; travel experience preferred. Key Highlights Weekly pay range: $2,264–$2,323 per week Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week Contract duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) Start date: 08/31/2026 Setting: Hospital-based travel assignment; MS/Telemetry float to step-down Responsibilities Provide direct, professional nursing care for Med Surg and Telemetry patients, including ongoing assessment, care planning, and documentation Monitor telemetry, interpret cardiac rhythms, and respond to rhythm changes; administer and titrate cardiac medications and IV drips per protocol Perform IV therapy, wound care, and routine treatments; manage access lines and ensure patient safety Float to step-down units as needed; collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and other members of the care team Maintain accurate charting in the assigned EMR system and ensure timely communication of patient status to the care team Participate in code response, adhere to BLS/ACLS protocols, and support NIH Stroke approach as required Requirements Active New York State Registered Nurse license BLS and ACLS certifications NIH Stroke Certification required prior to start Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg/Telemetry nursing experience; travel experience preferred Strong IV skills, ability to read EKG strips, and wound care proficiency Flu vaccine or declination accepted; ability to work in a hospital setting; Paragon EMR charting experience preferred; willing to float to MS/Telemetry as needed Benefits and Support Guaranteed hours: 36 per week Weekly pay: $2,264–$2,323 per week 24/7 recruiter and travel support Dedicated onboarding and credentialing assistance Orientation and EMR/charting training support Potential extension opportunities beyond the 13-week contract Paragon EMR experience preferred
