Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient- and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are essential components of this role. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes their own development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. Supervision of licensed and non-licensed staff members is part of the RN's responsibilities. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. A focus on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction is crucial. The RN applies their educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff are also key aspects of the position. Responsibilities include:

• Performing assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition.
• Demonstrating the ability to make independent decisions.
• Initiating, prioritizing, and implementing the plan of care and revising it as necessary.
• Collaborating with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services.
• Monitoring and documenting responses to clinical interventions.
• Facilitating, coordinating, providing, and evaluating education specific to patient and family needs.
• Delegating tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel.
• Functioning as a mentor and demonstrating teamwork.
• Identifying opportunities for improvement and participating in quality and safety efforts.
• Complying with regulatory standards and participating in practice governance.
