Here, you'll be part of an energetic and innovative group, with the chance to help shape insurance products and collaborate with business leaders throughout the organization.The Position Can Be Based In:Atlanta, GABoston, MAChicago, ILManhattan, NYWest Hartford, CTOur Complex Claims Specialist-Miscellaneous Professional Liability role is an individual contributor responsible for the handling of mid to high-severity primary Miscellaneous Professional Liability claims for the organization from inception to resolution. This includes, but is not limited to, insurance agents, property managers, tax preparers, and various consultants. This role is responsible for all aspects of the claims and litigation process, including liaising with external and internal business partners (e.g., outside experts and/or legal counsel; underwriting) as required.The Role:Adjusts and resolves complex mid to severity claims that include all phases of litigationWith minimal supervision, drafts complex coverage letters, including reservation of rights and denial lettersReviews and provides analysis of claim documentation and legal filingsDrives litigation best practices to lead defense strategy on litigated filesMentors team membersUses superior knowledge and experience to affect positive claim outcome via investigation, negotiation and utilization of alternative dispute resolutionsIdentifies emerging exposures and claims trendsIdentifies suspected fraudulent claims and tracks with special investigations unitAccurately documents claim files with all relevant claim documentation, correspondence and notes in compliance with company policies and applicable regulatory authoritiesThe US Claims team at Hiscox is a growing group of professionals working together to provide superior customer service and claims handling expertise.
