SUMMARY The Quality Technician is responsible for performing final inspection on complete industrial mechanical and HVAC related Preventative Maintenance as performed by internal technicians. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following :
- Maintain a safe working environment and a commitment to safety excellence.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with the safety policy, procedures, and instructions.
- Inspect completed maintenance for compliance to quality and engineering requirements. This includes verification of completion and visual inspections.
- Documentation of any non-conformances.
- Calibrate and maintain tools, fixtures, and/or instruments.
- Complete quality reports to communicate non-conformances and findings of inspections for all preventative maintenance performed.
- Acquire, analyze, and report quality information as required by leadership.
- Support efforts to develop, implement, and improve technician training processes.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with the quality policy, procedures, and instructions to ensure maintenance quality, customer satisfaction, attainment of business goals, and environmental well-being.
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems to track performance of preventative maintenance processes. Prepare, review, and evaluate data and develop recommendations for use by facility management.
- At least two years of experience working in an industrial or plant-based manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience working with HVAC related and industrial manufacturing equipment, and familiarity with internal parts and components a plus.
- Technical aptitude and ability to read/understand work instructions, job plans, and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001, PPAP, statistical process control (SPC) and lean business systems.
- Must be able to use basic measurement devices, such as micrometers, calipers, and indicator gauges.
- Must be able to work in a CMMS based maintenance system.
- Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, inspection procedures, statistical process control and manufacturing processes.
- Must have excellent problem solving, analytical, communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong organization and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to gather, compile and present information to a wide range of internal and external audiences.
- Exhibit a high-level of self-motivation, sense of urgency and comfort in making recommendations across broad teams.
- Must have proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
