About the Role:

The Groundskeeper plays a vital role in maintaining the aesthetic appeal and safety of outdoor environments by performing a variety of landscaping and maintenance tasks. This position ensures that lawns, gardens, and other green spaces are well-kept, healthy, and visually pleasing to visitors and residents alike. The Groundskeeper is responsible for the upkeep of grounds equipment and must adhere to safety protocols while working in diverse weather conditions. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and addressing landscaping needs, including planting, trimming, and general grounds maintenance. Ultimately, the Groundskeeper contributes to creating a welcoming and professionally maintained outdoor environment that enhances the overall experience of the property.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to climb ladders safely and work at heights as required.
• Basic math skills, including the ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers for measurements and material calculations.
• Capability to follow both oral and written instructions accurately.
• Physical ability to perform frequent bending, lifting, and manual labor throughout the workday.
• Demonstrated professionalism and a positive attitude in previous work or volunteer experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in landscaping or grounds maintenance.
• Familiarity with the use and maintenance of landscaping equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of plant care, pest control, and soil management.
• Certification or training in safety procedures related to groundskeeping.
• Strong depth perception to safely operate machinery and perform detailed landscaping tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mowing lawns, trimming bushes, planting flowers, and maintaining garden beds.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment safely and efficiently, including lawnmowers, trimmers, and hand tools.
• Follow detailed oral and written instructions to complete assigned tasks accurately and on schedule.
• Climb ladders and perform tasks at various heights to maintain trees, shrubs, and other elevated landscaping features.
• Monitor grounds for hazards or maintenance issues and report or address them promptly to ensure safety and appearance.
