About the Role

Albright College seeks a Dean of Students for Campus Life and Conduct to lead its campus life program and student conduct process. This hybrid role — common at small colleges — combines strategic oversight residence life and student engagement with administration of a fair, educationally grounded conduct system. The Dean serves as a key member of the Student Affairs leadership team, a trusted advisor to the Vice President for Student Affairs, and a central resource for students navigating both community life and conduct matters.

Principal Responsibilities

• Direct residential life strategy, staffing, budget, and programming, including supervision of professional and student staff (Community Coordinators, Resident Assistants).
• Administer the student conduct process in its entirety — case management, hearings, sanctioning, and appeals — in compliance with FERPA, Title IX, and the Clery Act.
• Serve as primary hearing officer for routine cases and provide oversight of conduct boards when appropriate.
• Oversight of student engagement including student organizations, Student Government and Greek Life.
• Participate in the senior on-call rotation for crisis response and after-hours emergencies.
• Develop and revise institutional policy, including the Student Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Housing Agreement.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field.
• A minimum of five years of experience in residence life, student conduct, or student affairs, including at least two years of supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of student development theory, due process standards, and relevant federal and state regulations.
• Experience in an on-call or crisis-response capacity, and with housing or conduct management software (e.g., The Housing Director, Maxient).
• Sound judgment, discretion, and strong written and verbal communication skills
