Role Description The Event Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based at The Waterfall Banquet in Claymont, DE. This role is responsible for coordinating events from initial inquiry through post-event follow-up, including managing client communications, guiding clients through package options, and finalizing event details. Day-to-day tasks include scheduling and conducting walkthroughs, preparing event timelines and floor plans, coordinating with catering and operations teams, and ensuring that all event logistics are clearly communicated and executed. The Event Specialist supports event marketing efforts, assists with sales activities such as tours and proposals, and provides on-site oversight during events to ensure a smooth guest experience. This position requires working some evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules. Qualifications Strong Customer Service and Communication skills to interact professionally with clients, guests, and internal staff. Proficiency in Event Planning and Event Marketing to coordinate event logistics and support promotional activities. Sales skills to conduct venue tours, present packages, and assist in converting inquiries into confirmed bookings. Ability to manage multiple events and deadlines, with strong organizational and time-management skills. Comfort working in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused environment, including evenings and weekends as needed. Experience in event venues, hotels, catering, or hospitality is preferred. Basic proficiency with office and event management software; familiarity with CRM tools is a plus.
