Position Summary:
The Conflicts Coordinator: Lateral Hires is a member of the Conflicts Services team that supports all aspects of the conflicts resolution process for new attorney and staff hires.
This role includes the reviewing, researching, and analyzing conflicts of interests information for new hires. In doing so, this role ensures the firm maintains ethical standards in accordance with professional responsibility rules and firm policies.
This position works closely with Human Resources, Recruiting, Candidates, and the Conflicts Supervisor: Lateral Hires as well as the rest of the Conflicts and Business Intake Department.
Should be available for on-call.
Essential Job Functions:
- Coordinate with HR, Recruiting, and Conflicts Services team to ensure timely conflict resolution and onboarding of lateral hires for both attorneys and staff hires
- Produce, review, and analyze conflict search results of lateral hires, with a focus of staff and associate class hires, then identify issues based on former representations, related entities, and matter involvement
- Maintain lateral hires' work history records based on the submissions
- Implement and maintain ethical screens
- Track outstanding waivers and approvals, and enter final waiver documentation into the conflicts database
- Assist with a wide range of research and system maintenance requests and other projects, including new business.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree Required.
- 2+ years of experience in a law firm environment, conflicts department with lateral hires experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of professional responsibility rules
- Experience with conflicts software (Intapp, Intapp Walls), research tools (D&B, CapIQ), and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze with attention to detail, think critically, problem-solve, and escalate when appropriate.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
- Ability to manage urgent tasks promptly while balancing competing priorities in a deadline driven environment
- Professional demeanor with a customer service mindset and discretion in handling confidential information.

The anticipated pay range for this role is $75,000 to $100,000 in Chicago. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on several factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
