Registered Nurse - Med-Surg

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, 6 PM - 6:30 AM

This is a 13-week contract position.

Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care and evaluates total nursing care for Med-Surg patients. The role includes effective communication with other shifts and maintaining satisfactory relations with other departments to ensure continuity of care.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and intravenous solutions skillfully and correctly.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation and reporting.
• Utilize gathered data to determine patients' physical, psychological, educational, and discharge needs.
• Evaluate patient and family responses to the implementation of the plan of care and modify as required.
• Support and enforce infection control policies and procedures.
• Participate in orientation and in-service training for staff.
• Work independently with limited direct supervision using nursing standards and professional judgment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Current Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience.
• Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Mandatory Abuse Reporter Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well.
