Behavioral Health Technician (Independent Contractor)

Overview Devereux has an exciting opportunity to become a Behavioral Health Technician with our Pocono Center. This is an Independent Contractor position. Main Site Address: 1547 Mill Creek Road, Newfoundland, PA 18445 Responsibilities This role provides services in the community. The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is responsible for the implementation of behavioral intervention plans which are individualized to each child or adolescent, and to family needs. Provides direct services and support in the child’s home, school or community setting. Implements the interventions outlined in the treatment plan. Assists the child in developing age-appropriate behaviors and coping skills. Offers support and transfers appropriate interventions to the child or caregiver. Completes necessary data tracking. Attends weekly supervision. Area of Service Area of service includes: Carbon, Lackawanna, Monroe, Pike, and Wayne counties in NEPA. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience: Human service experience working with children, adolescents, or adults preferred. Devereux has a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and maintains policies and procedures to reduce the risk of abuse. Devereux fosters a culture of reporting abuse and cooperates with authorities. Compensation & Benefits PAY RATE: $22.00/hr Standard Payment for Sign-On: Payment for sign-on will be made in increments: $200 at the time of full completion of training, contract requirements, and onboarding; $200 after the first case worked; and $200 at 90 days after the first case worked, provided the Contractor meets requirements. For applicants prior to 6/30/2026, increased Sign-On Bonus Opportunity: If onboarding, training, and service delivery occur within 1 month of offer, sign-on bonus is $2,000 total in the following increments: $500 at training completion, $500 after the first case, and $1,000 at 6 months after the first case.
