We're seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Montgomery County Homeless Services and Genny's Place team in Horsham, PA.

Genny's Place provides a safe place to stay and supportive services for single adults experiencing homelessness as they work toward permanent housing and greater independence. Through a partnership with Your Way Home, Montgomery County's Office of Behavioral Health, and Resources for Human Development, individuals receive personalized support designed to help them overcome barriers to housing and build long-term stability.

As a DSP, you'll work directly with individuals in the program, providing day-to-day support, connecting them with resources, assisting with life skills, and helping create a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment.

What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Professional, you will:

• Provide compassionate, person-centered support to adults experiencing homelessness.
• Help maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for individuals staying in the program.
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living and practical life skills that support greater independence.
• Work alongside caseworkers and other team members to support individuals as they work toward permanent housing and access necessary benefits.
• Help individuals access community resources, appointments, Social Security services, and other supports as needed.
• Provide transportation to individuals when required.
• Support individuals with practical needs such as meals, laundry, clothing, transportation, and life skills.
• Provide care and support using a trauma-informed approach.
• Encourage healthy, safe, and socially appropriate behaviors.
• Complete required program documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follow applicable incident management and reporting procedures.
• Collaborate with program staff and community partners to support each individual's goals.
• Maintain confidentiality, professional boundaries, and respect for the dignity and individual needs of each person served.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to read, write, and complete required documentation in English
• Basic computer and internet skills, including the ability to utilize email, timekeeping systems, and other required applications
• Ability to successfully complete applicable employment screenings and clearances

Preferred

• Associate or bachelor's degree
• Previous experience in human services, homeless services, behavioral health, residential services, community support, or direct care

Schedule

• Full-Time
• $16.50/hour
• Schedule flexibility may be required based on program needs, including potential evening or weekend hours.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, twist, and climb steps as required
• Ability to drive a vehicle as part of job responsibilities
• Ability to occasionally exert up to 50 pounds of force
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
