Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer- Power Systems to join our growing team. This is a high-impact technical leadership role for an experienced engineer who thrives on solving complex electrical design challenges and leading projects from concept through execution. In this role, you will support a wide range of industrial and energy infrastructure projects, including Oil & Gas, Renewables, Distributed Power, Data Centers, and Power Generation. You'll serve as a technical lead, client partner, and mentor—helping deliver practical, high-quality engineering solutions while guiding project teams and supporting business growth.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Electrical Engineer – Power Systems, you will play a key role in the design, execution, and delivery of complex electrical engineering projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading moderate to large-scale electrical engineering projects from concept through delivery
• Serving as a technical lead and making sound decisions on complex engineering issues
• Developing and overseeing power system designs, controls drawings, engineering calculations, technical reports, and project documentation
• Designing electrical service interconnects in coordination with local utility providers
• Preparing specifications for the procurement, installation, and testing of electrical equipment
• Performing and/or leading electrical system studies, detailed design work, design reviews, field investigations, and technical reporting
• Using engineering software such as SKM or ETAP for system modeling and analysis
• Coordinating closely with project managers, clients, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders
• Identifying project risks, scope changes, and technical challenges early and proactively
• Contributing to proposal development, cost estimating, and business development efforts
• Providing mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers

What You Bring

Required qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering
• 10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Proven experience in a technical leadership role
• Direct experience supporting industrial facilities
• Experience using SKM or ETAP
• Strong working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, IEEE, API, and AGA recommended practices

Preferred experience includes:

• Substation design
• Relay programming and startup
• Field support during construction
• Experience spanning project conception, design, commissioning, and startup

Lake Superior Consulting offers a competitive compensation package. The actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including your skills, experience, and office/market location. The anticipated salary/hourly range for this position is $120,000-$170,000 per year. Our benefits include:
