Patient Financial Representative (Hybrid)

Patient Financial Representative
The Patient Financial Representative provides customer service by working directly with the patient or patient representative to answer questions or concerns relating to charges, payments, and insurance coverage. Communicates with the patient or patient representative regarding their financial obligation with the goal of effectively resolving the outstanding balance according to JCMG policies. Collaborates with clinic staff and physicians regarding patients with delinquent account balances. Documents activities in the patient's account notes in eClinicalWorks and HST. Recommends outstanding account balances for the collection process as appropriate. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor. JCMG core competencies:

- Provides quality customer service to staff, patients and visitors always.
Minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year in a customer service role.
- Familiar with medical office practices preferred.
- Background in medical billing preferred.
- Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices, basic medical coding, insurance agency operating procedures and practices, governmental legal and regulatory provisions related to collection activities.
- Skill with computer applications.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, co-workers and management.
- Must be able to work effectively as a team member.
Work environment:
Works in heated and air-conditioned area consistent with a normal office environment.
