Travel RN - SICU
This position involves providing care in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit. The unit has 26 beds and operates with a staff of approximately 15. The day shift consists of 13 RNs, a charge nurse, and a patient care tech. The night shift similarly consists of 13 RNs, a charge nurse, and a patient care tech. Patient ratios are typically 1:2, and 1:1 for high acuity patients, including post-CABG cases. The unit uses equipment such as balloon pumps, CRRT, hypothermia devices, and ECMO. Electronic medical records are managed using Meditech. Ideal candidates are driven, organized, and efficient, with a positive attitude. The unit typically cares for trauma patients, post-CABG patients, post-TAVR patients, and general post-surgical ICU patients. Common procedures include managing chest tubes, central lines, and medication drips. Candidates with prior experience traveling to large trauma facilities are preferred.
