Quality Control Manager

Quality Control ManagerA growing industrial manufacturing organization is seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead site-level quality operations within a fabrication and welding environment. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS), maintaining compliance with customer and industry standards, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing quality personnel while partnering closely with operations, engineering, and production teams to support manufacturing performance, audit readiness, and welding quality compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and develop Quality Inspectors, Welding Inspectors, and Quality personnel while ensuring inspection coverage across operationsManage incoming, in-process, and final inspection programsDevelop, implement, and maintain quality procedures, inspection plans, and documentation systemsLead management review meetings and present quality metrics, audit findings, and improvement plans to leadershipEnsure compliance with customer specifications, fabrication drawings, welding procedures, and applicable industry standardsWrite, review, and maintain WPS, PQR, and Welder Qualification documentationLead root cause analysis and corrective action activities related to nonconformances and quality issuesCoordinate with production, engineering, purchasing, and operations teams to resolve manufacturing quality concernsManage calibration systems for inspection and measurement equipmentLead internal, external, and customer audit activities while ensuring timely closure of findingsDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, rework, delays, and quality escapesMaintain quality records, reporting systems, and compliance documentationServe as a primary quality contact for customers, auditors, and third-party inspectorsSupport plant safety initiatives and maintain compliance with company safety standardsQualificationsEducationHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate's degree or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field preferredExperience5+ years of quality experience within a manufacturing or fabrication environment3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience managing quality personnelExperience leading internal and external auditsHands-on experience within welding, fabrication, or metal manufacturing operationsExperience with management review processes, KPI reporting, and corrective action systemsCertifications (Preferred)Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification strongly preferredTechnical SkillsStrong understanding of fabrication, welding, and manufacturing quality systemsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding symbolsExperience with root cause analysis, audits, CAPA, and KPI reportingProficiency with inspection tools, spreadsheets, and quality documentation systemsBenefitsHealth InsuranceLife InsurancePaid Time OffThis organization is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to creating an inclusive and diverse workplace.
