Electrical Controls Technical Specialist - B-shift

Job DescriptionThe Electrical Controls Technical Specialist position troubleshoots electrical/controls issues that arise during the shift that impact our aluminum cast house and extrusion presses. B shift hours are 6am to 6pm, Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday.This is an onsite position. At this time, we are not able to offer visa sponsorship for this role, either now or in the future. Therefore, we cannot move forward with candidates who would require sponsorship and or are on (e.g., H-1B, F-1, STEM OPT, OPT) visas.What you will work on:Provide technical assistance to maintenance and production personnel by troubleshooting electrical and controls system issues.Improve mean time between failures and reduce mean time to repair by applying lean concepts focusing on waste reduction and throughput.Improve equipment related downtime.Major responsibility for this position is, but not be limited to:Functioning as a problem solver, applying theory and experience to develop process improvements and correctly identifying problems by submitting sound recommendations for long-term improvements of equipment and processes.Leading and participating in process improvements with multi-discipline technical staff, maintenance and production.Mentoring employees to increase their knowledge of equipment and process.Working to eliminate waste through reliability improvements and monitoring processes, ensuring they are in control and meeting expectations.Lead Root Cause Analysis Job RequirementsWhat you will bring to the role:Minimum of an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution or five plus(5+) years of experience in an Electrical technical role.One to three (1-3) years' experience with PLC's (Control Logix 5000), HMI's (Allen Bradley ME and SE), AC/DC drives & motors, low & medium power distribution.Proficiency in Fanuc Robot programmingTwo (2) years of experience in leading, managing, and executing electrical projects.Preferred experience:Maintenance experience within an industrial environment.Experience in Root Cause Problem SolvingProficiency in Microsoft Office programsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProven ability to work in a low supervision environment while successfully meeting goalsHydraulic and or Combustion trouble shooting experience a plusNo third-party candidate submissions are being accepted at this time for this opening.About Kaiser Aluminum: Talented people join our team because we are a company passionate about environmental sustainability, employee growth, contributing back to our communities and championing a diverse and inclusive culture.
