About the Position

Job Title: Physical Therapist Outpatient Profession: Physical Therapist Specialty: Physical Therapist Outpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 10:00 AM - 06:30 PM Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program is required. Certifications: For licensure prior to 2016, a bachelor's or master's degree is acceptable. Must-Have: For licensure from 2016 onward, a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree is required. Description: Assist patients in reaching maximum physical performance while adjusting to disabilities. Restore patient physical functioning by interpreting physical therapy evaluations and test results. Determine physical therapy treatment goals and plans. Administer manual exercises. Instruct, encourage, and assist patients in performing physical activities and using assistive and supportive devices. Complete billing sheets accurately by the end of the day. Evaluate the effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit. Perform patient assessments and establish a plan of care. Provide in-service education programs for nursing personnel as needed. Identify and document goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation. Discuss evaluations, goals, and treatment with both patients and families. Participate in quality process improvement initiatives. Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants according to organizational policy and state regulations. Education and treatment model focuses on individuals from birth to young adulthood. Utilize a one-on-one treatment model.
