Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman’s Legislative Affairs organization is seeking a Manager, Outreach and Advocacy, to lead third-party engagements and implement its advocacy strategies. Reporting to the Director, Policy and Advocacy, the Manager is responsible for developing and executing external engagement strategies in support of Northrop Grumman programs and priorities; coordinating internal company parties in support of advocacy efforts; and collaborating with suppliers, third-party organizations, and other external stakeholders. The individual will be required to engage and develop relationships with a variety of elected officials and their staff, suppliers/partners, state and local leaders, and third parties. This position is located in the Falls Church, VA corporate office with the ability to also work out of the Washington, D.C. Capitol Hill office. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in related discipline, and at least 10 years of experience in government relations, legislative, communications, or advocacy activities OR Master’s degree in related discipline, and at least 8 years of experience in government relations, legislative, communications, or advocacy activities.Excellent written and oral communications skills, and the proven ability to take in large amounts of information and synthesize key messages in fast-paced environment; Experience executing advocacy strategy, collaborating effectively across teams, as well as demonstrated ability to set and meet objectives while reacting to dynamic environments are a must; Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain internal and external relationships related to aerospace and defense and/or political affairs; Experience communicating with federal leaders and key decision-makers is required; Great facility with databases and using their content to execute and assist others in executing email campaigns; and A high level of integrity and a hands-on approach to problem-solving are required, as well as a professional presence for interacting with public policy decision-makers and company executives. Preferred Qualifications: Proven ability to synthesize complex problems/public policy issues while identifying their related business implications and advocacy approaches; Ability to operate in fast-paced environments and demonstrate strong judgment/decision-making skills and political acumen; A strong commitment and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment is paramount; The demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others; Knowledge of the budget, legislative process, authorization process, and appropriations process; and Experience collaborating across business areas, third parties, and suppliers. Primary Level Salary Range: $146,600.00 - $219,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
