Automation Technician (Direct Hire) - Buffalo Grove, IL Pay: $25 - $28 per hour Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (day or night) + shift differential and quarterly bonus opportunities We are hiring a hands‑on Production Automation Technician to support and maintain automated manufacturing systems in a fast‑paced production environment. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for candidates with a 2‑year technical degree in mechatronics, automation, industrial maintenance, or a related field and experience working with automated equipment. What You'll Do Troubleshoot and repair automated production equipment , including conveyors, robotics, and packaging systems Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and improve reliability Diagnose mechanical issues such as misalignment, wear, and jams Support PLC systems (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens); reading programs required, editing is a plus Work with pneumatic systems (cylinders, valves, actuators) Inspect equipment, complete repairs, and document maintenance activities Partner with engineering and production teams to improve system performance Respond quickly to breakdowns and restore operations What We're Looking For Associate degree or technical training in automation, mechatronics, or related field 2+ years of experience with automated manufacturing equipment Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills Ability to read schematics and technical drawings Experience with conveyors, motors, sensors, or robotics preferred Benefits Benefits vary by client and are confirmed at the time of offer.
