Clinical Research AssistantUnder general supervision, assist in various administrative and data collection aspects of clinical research studies.Primary ResponsibilitiesCoordinate patient visits to clinic. Organize study participant charts and files, and distribute to appropriate locationCollect required data from study coordinators and research nurses, and enter onto clinical research forms and into computerized databaseVerify accuracy of bills and stipendsGenerate letters to be sent to study participantsUnder the direction of the study coordinator or principal investigator, assist in enrolling patients in educational and social intervention research studies. Contact patients as required after initial contact to obtain additional informationProvide general clerical support to nurses and investigatorsOrder and maintain log of stipend checks and/or gift certificates to be distributed to study participantsCompile outreach packets, recruitment and specimen collection kitsOther duties as assigned.Knowledge – Skills – AbilitiesKnowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management.Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.QualificationsAppropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.Minimum Required Education: High schoolMinimum Required Experience: 1 yearRequired Certification/Licensure(s): CITI training within 90 days of hirePhysical RequirementsWork involves light exertion transporting materials or equipment but not for sustained time.Work EnvironmentOccasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment.Sensory AcuityAbility to detect and translate speech or other communication required.
