Our New York Contract team is built around business development, and a dedicated delivery team in Houston does nothing but fill the roles you win sourcing, shortlisting, and coordinating the process from brief to start date.

The Market You’ll Own

North America is in the middle of an infrastructure build-out on a scale we haven’t seen in decades, and it’s short on skilled people to deliver it. Spencer Ogden partners with the companies behind it:

What You’ll Be Doing

\n

Winning new business

\n

\n
• Identify, target, and win new contract clients across the sectors above through outbound calls, LinkedIn, networking, and in-person meetings
\n
• Build territory and account plans, mapping hiring managers, decisionmakers, and procurement stakeholders
\n
• Negotiate terms of business, rates, and margins, and pursue PSL/MSP/VMS positions where relevant
\n
• Track project awards, funding announcements, M&A, and policy shifts to get to clients before the hiring starts
\n

Growing your accounts

\n

\n
• Act as the strategic point of contact for your clients, with regular reviews and feedback loops
\n
• Expand wallet share across new teams, locations, and skill sets
\n
• Take detailed job briefs and advise clients on market conditions, rates, and timelines
\n
• Drive extensions and redeployments so every placement keeps paying month after month
\n

Working with your delivery team

\n

\n
• Hand briefs to a dedicated Houston team focused on one thing: filling your jobs with top-tier contractors
\n
• Prioritize roles together, keeping shortlists fast, relevant, and high quality
\n
• Stay close enough to delivery to understand the talent market and step in on hard-to-fill roles when it helps
\n

Running your desk commercially

\n

\n
• Hit and exceed targets for new accounts, contractors on assignment, gross profit, and activity
\n
• Keep CRM data accurate and report on pipeline and forecast
\n
• Contribute to team strategy and mentor newer consultants as you grow
\n

\n

\n

What We’re Looking For

\n

Essential

\n

\n
• 1-4 years in recruitment, staffing, or B2B sales, with a record of winning and growing accounts
\n
• Proven ability to build your own pipeline and close new business
\n
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, comfortable with senior stakeholders
\n
• Commercial awareness around margins, rates, and contractor structures (W-2, 1099, C2C)
\n
• Competitive, resilient, and driven by results
\n

Earnings & Progression

• Base salary plus uncapped commission : Year 1 OTE 100-120K+
\n
• Clear progression into Account Lead, or Management
\n
• Targets and earnings potential based on real team performance
