Our purpose is to build partnerships, improve communities and change lives.Position OverviewThe Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in delivering high-quality maintenance services across a portfolio of commercial properties. This position is responsible for performing a variety of skilled repair, preventative maintenance, and curb appeal tasks to ensure buildings remain safe, operational, and visually appealing. The Maintenance Technician works directly with property managers, tenants, and vendors to identify issues, complete service requests, and maintain strong client relationships.Location: This position supports our Northern Indiana portfolio, with regular travel to locations such as South Bend, Elkhart, Goshen, Warsaw, and Valparaiso. A company vehicle will be provided.Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30a - 4:30p ET, on-call rotationReports to: Facilities Operations ManagerThe Perks:Rotational on-call schedule - plus a $100 "thank you" bonus for each on-call week, giving you more predictability and work-life balanceFast-access medical benefits – available within 30–60 days of hire401(k) with company match – plus access to a dedicated Financial AdvisorPaid holidays from day one – no waiting periodGenerous PTO – 15 days of paid time off after just 60 daysTool reimbursement – keep your equipment in top shapeEducation reimbursement – for approved job-related coursesEntrepreneurial, collaborative culture – your ideas and skills matter hereKey ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & RepairPerform facilities maintenance duties including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance repairs, and curb appealDiagnose maintenance issues, determine necessary repairs, and complete work using proper tools and techniquesRespond promptly to service requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and tenant disruptionParticipate in a rotating on-call schedule to respond to after-hours emergencies across the portfolioMaintain work areas in a clean, organized condition and ensure job sites are left clean upon completionComplete routine preventative maintenance on mechanical systems, equipment, and building componentsConduct inspections of interior and exterior areas to identify maintenance needs or safety hazardsMaintain detailed service logs and inspection records for each property in accordance with company standardsRecommend long-term repair needs or capital improvements based on observed conditionsClient Services & CommunicationRepresent the company professionally while working at client sites and interacting with tenants or building ownersCoordinate with property managers and ownership groups to understand priorities and timelines for maintenance tasksRespect client and tenant spaces by minimizing disruption and maintaining a courteous, professional demeanorTake ownership of assigned properties and uphold a high standard of care on behalf of the clientSafety & ComplianceFollow all company safety protocols and adhere to OSHA standards in daily workReport hazardous conditions or safety violations immediately to managementUse personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper safety procedures when operating tools or machineryParticipate in regular safety training and contribute to a safety-conscious workplace cultureTechnology & DocumentationUse the company's work order system to receive, update, and close maintenance requests in real timeAccurately log service details, parts used, and time spent on each task to ensure proper tracking and reportingMonitor assigned work orders daily and prioritize based on urgency and client needsSubmit required documentation, including photos or service notes, in accordance with company standardsQualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent required; trade school, technical training, or associate degree in a related field preferred2+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in commercial or facilities environmentsValid driver's license and acceptable driving record requiredEPA Section 608 HVAC Certification preferredSkills & CompetenciesStrong technical knowledge of building systems and repair techniques including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systemsExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsStrong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and tenantsComfortable working independently and managing time across multiple job sitesBasic computer skills for using work order systems, email, and mobile appsDependable, responsive, and able to adapt to changing priorities and urgent needsWhy Join Our Team?Join a team that values quality work, professional growth, and strong client relationships.
