About the Role On‑call part‑time Video Editor (various shifts as needed) to create compelling, shareable videos for the New York Post video team. Responsibilities Edit videos for digital platforms using original footage, stock footage, and social media content. Work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment. Be knowledgeable across a variety of topic areas from national news, trends, and tabloid fare. Write short compelling headlines, video descriptions, and short‑form scripts; conduct quick research on various topics. Qualifications 3‑5 years experience editing short‑form video for digital outlets. Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere. Ability to color‑correct, mix audio, and select music to match the tone and style of the story. Experience with multicam editing; work with and without producers. Excited about new types of multimedia storytelling and able to create digital video in a fast‑paced newsroom with weekly deadlines. Aware of current events across a broad range of topics and able to pitch ideas. Organized, team‑player, and able to meet daily deadlines. Motion graphics and simple animation experience a plus; knowledge of post‑production workflow a plus. Additional Information May be required to come on‑site to Midtown, NYC. Temporary engagement through a third‑party vendor; payroll handled by vendor. Salary: $25–$40 per hour based on experience.
