Controls Engineer

The Controls Engineer designs, implements, and maintains electrical and electronic processes in order to increase productivity and efficiency throughout the plant. What You Will Be Doing Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley, or similar). Develop and configure HMI/SCADA applications to monitor and control equipment and processes. Specify and integrate sensors, drives, actuators, and other control hardware. Support the installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment and upgrades. Maintain and improve existing control systems to enhance safety, quality, and productivity. Create and maintain electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and documentation. Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production to deliver projects on time and within budget. Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams, including training when needed. Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Plans repair to faulty equipment or systems and obtain or provide recommendations for updates. Recommend new policies or procedures as necessary. Plan for execution of engineering schedules Create process specification and design standards. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Other duties may be assigned. What You Need to Bring Bachelor’s Degree; or seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with PLC programming languages (ladder logic, structured text). Experience configuring HMI/SCADA software. Working knowledge of industrial networks and protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus). Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical and P&ID drawings.
