The CNC Grinder effectively sets up CNC cylindrical and surface grinding machines with required tools, fixtures, and programs to machines parts and fixtures to required specifications. The Grinder collaborates with other departments, reads and interprets drawings and process documentation to machine quality products meeting customer requirements.

Key Results Areas:

• Properly set up CNC cylindrical and surface grinding machines per drawings and process documentation to grind precision parts and fixtures.
• Measure parts and adjust machine accordingly to ensure the quality of the product.
• Able to locate Quality Management System (QMS) procedures, have read and understand relevant procedures and are aware of all procedural changes when they occur.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines (I.E grease, oil, coolant and filters)

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Education and Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent education certification.

• Experience with set up and operation of CNC machines.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T callouts.
• Experience using manual inspection equipment (e.g., height gauges, micrometers, indicators, dial bores, etc.)

Other:

Must be willing to work overtime as required

Desired Job Qualification:

• Completion of a two-year degree or certification in machining or equivalent from an accredited school, and/or vocational training.
• Some prior experience running cylindrical grinders and manually dressing grinding wheels preferred.
• Some prior experience programming CNC controls at the machine preferred.

• Physical demands: The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is exposed to high level of manufacturing and equipment noise. Duties are performed indoors in a manufacturing environment with temperature changes. Exposure to hazardous materials, fumes or airborne particles and moving mechanical parts with vibration.

Compensation and Benefits :

The hourly range for this role is $25.00 - $30.00 and is commensurate with the applicant's experience. This range represents the anticipated minimum and maximum base for this position. The final compensation for this position will be set based on the applicant's qualifications (education, training and/or experience related to this role), and therefore, may fall outside the range shown, depending on the circumstances.
