Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the ICU/CCU setting provides advanced nursing care to critically ill patients, ensuring continuous monitoring and timely interventions. This role demands expertise in critical care nursing, collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, and adherence to hospital protocols. The RN is responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, and emergency response within a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care to ICU/CCU patients including monitoring vital signs and managing life-support equipment.
• Perform patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and changes in patient condition.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and interventions.
• Assist with patient and family education regarding care and treatment plans.
• Occasionally float to cover breaks and provide assistance in other units as needed.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in California.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
• Proof of negative TB screen within 12 months prior to contract start.
• Minimum of 3 years of critical care nursing experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in ICU/CCU nursing environments.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation systems.
• Previous experience with patient education and family support in critical care.

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to work in a high-acuity critical care environment.
• May be required to float to other units to cover breaks or assist as needed.
• Compliance with hospital infection control and safety policies is mandatory.
• Housing options available nearby; candidates should verify accommodations independently.

Scheduling:

• Day shift schedule.
• 36 hours guaranteed per week.
• Shift assignments may include occasional floating within the facility.
