A day in this role

By mid-morning, you’ve aligned scope, schedule, and budget across multiple commercial electrical projects—many in hospitals and data centers—while rallying each project team around clear goals. After lunch, you’re reviewing third-party construction progress, validating client expectations, and reshuffling milestones to adapt to shifting site conditions. Late afternoon is for mentoring your leaders (about 3 direct and 10 total reports), pressure-testing financial forecasts, and closing the loop on invoicing and change orders. Before you sign off, you distill risks, wins, and next steps for stakeholders so everyone knows where the work stands.

What you’ll lead

• Build high-performing teams for each project to deliver quality outcomes that meet scope, schedule, budget, and customer expectations.
• Drive division profitability through disciplined, effective project execution.
• Set and lead project management technical and schedule targets, guide procurement and contractual requirements, oversee personnel assignments, and plan capacity.
• Continuously evaluate and improve departmental systems and processes to meet customer needs and profitability goals.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 3 direct and 10 total reports.
• Review overall contractual requirements across the portfolio, and the specific process design methodologies for individual efforts as needed.
• Ensure schedule requirements are achieved; readily adjust priorities and milestones based on customer needs, resource availability, and job conditions.
• Engage customers before, during, and after delivery to confirm expectations are clearly understood and consistently met.
• Provide oversight for third-party construction firms.
• Run the project review process with special emphasis on financial forecasting.
• Uphold high standards for engineering quality, studies, and project delivery.
• Proactively and systematically communicate challenges, risks, and successes.
• Oversee invoicing per project terms and negotiate appropriate change orders.

Your background

• 8+ years of project management in electrical commercial/mixed-use construction, with a focus on Hospital and Data Center Experience.
• Fluency in electric power engineering concepts.
• Hands-on field coordination experience with construction management.
• Deep knowledge of project scheduling, bids, take-offs, change orders, and contracts.
• Track record of building relationships and helping win new work.
• Demonstrated ability to run a profitable portfolio.
• Exceptional initiative, execution, and communication skills (oral and written).
• Outstanding analytical, motivational, and leadership capabilities.
• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management strongly preferred.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician’s license is a plus.
