Medical City Fort Worth is a 350+ bed full-service Magnet Designated hospital. It is located in the heart of the medical district. Medical City Fort Worth serves as a tertiary referral center for Tarrant County and many counties within a 90 mile radius. We offer comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services. Our specialties include cardiac care, neurosciences and oncology. We have surgical services, orthopedics, kidney transplants and emergency care. We offer three ER locations, including two off campus ER located in Burleson and White Settlement. Medical City Fort Worth is a designated comprehensive stroke center. We are a Joint Commission chest pain center. We are a part of the Medical City network of hospitals. Patients are ensured access to medical experts and advanced healthcare innovations across the network. - Participates in hospital or departmental performance improvement activities.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care needs of the patient.
- Document nursing care in compliance with policies procedures and practices established by the Nursing Department and the hospital.
- Initiates prescribed treatment plan.
- Initiate and carry out nursing plan of care.
- Administers medications, blood and blood products.
- Provides for activities of daily living for patients.
- Conducts accurate, timely assessment of patients utilizing FIMs scoring.
- Transport patients.
- Maintenance of peripheral and central lines, pic lines, medi ports.
- Management of post operative pain.
- Management of neuraxial analgesia.
- Management of traction and orthopedic conditions.
- Management of general surgery patients.
- Management of medical patients.
- Assessment and treatment of post-op complications.
- Provision of pre-operative and post operative nursing care.
- Provision of pre-operative and post operative patient teaching and education related to specific surgical procedures or adaptations in health status resulting from treatment.
- Participation in discharge planning.
- Provision of emotional support for patients and families based on the assessments of their coping skills.
- Performance of nursing care in compliance with safety policies and procedures established by the hospital and Nursing Department.
- Perform special assignments as needed/requested.
- Serves as a clinical resource to department staff, students, volunteers and other departments, and contributes to the teamwork essential to ensuring quality patient care
- Takes appropriate measures to ensure safety of patients.
- Performs nursing care consistent with the needs of adolescent, adult and geriatric patients requiring treatment and care for pre and post surgical conditions.
- Attend staff meetings and inservices.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- ACLS (AHA) preferred
- Texas RN License or RN Compact State License
- (RN) Registered Nurse
- BSN preferred. If hired into RN required position after September 2014 and no BSN, then BSN required within three years of facility date.
- ADN required
- Pass the licensed personnel FIMexam using the UDSMR Online Credentialing System within 90 days of hire and again as necessary to maintain the facilities UDS-PRO credential.
- CRRN Preferred
- Staff RN must have a minimum of 1 year recent nursing experience.
- Experience in Post Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Care setting preferred
- Experience utilizating Patient Assessment Instrument (IRF-PAI) for inpatient rehabilitation preferred.
