Systems Engineer (CAT2) (Bid Ref 59995-1) – Apache, RedHat JBoss, Oracle DB, VMware ESXi Vacancy: 1 Field: Other Contract type: Nature Contract Deadline: 16 Jun 2026 Contract period: 03 Aug 2026 to 02 Nov 2026 (3 months) Payroll: InfoTech Employer: Business Government T26 Contract Location: North Point, Guangdong Province – N/A Monthly Salary: HK$ N/A - N/A Project nature: On-going Administrative, System, Technical and database support of computer systems in Customs & Excise Department (C&ED) Responsibilities Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full-time second to serve the C&ED. Provide system and database support for existing computer systems including answering hotline enquiries, troubleshooting and recovering the system when incidents occur. Provide administrative support, preparation of statistics and returns. Arrange equipment or service procurement and equipment inventory control. Assist in rectifying and resolving system and database problems when system incidents occur. Provide maintenance support including implementation and upgrades of both hardware and software assets. Record all incidents, problems and resolutions in the ticketing system. Perform research, develop and recommend policy guidelines and/or procedures. Prepare system documentation. Perform any other work as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications 3+ years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years relevant experience in a similar post or comparable capacity. At least 3 years working experience in Apache Web Server, Oracle/Redhat Linux, RedHat JBoss, Oracle Database, and VMware ESXi System support, with at least 2 years in a similar post or comparable capacity. Must be able to work outside normal office hours and provide 7×24 on-call production support. May need to work at C&ED remote offices scattered over the territory such as control points. Clear understanding of Government Standards and Guidelines such as Baseline IT Security Policy (S17), IT Security Guidelines (G3) and Security Regulations (SR). Knowledge and experience in systems analysis and design; preferably with experience in feasibility/technical studies and team leading/supervision. Integrity record check required, consent to sign during recruitment interview. Compliance with all government-wide and C&ED departmental circulars for staff administration and code of conduct. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong spoken and written English required. Good experience working with the Government and support of Government systems and services is an advantage. Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent. Technical Skills At least 3 years' experience in Linux System Administration (LIN). At least 3 years' experience in Storage Area Network (SAN). At least 3 years' experience in System Implementation and Maintenance/Support (SIM). At least 2 years' experience in Server Virtualisation Technology (SVT). At least 2 years' experience in Networking (NET). 3 years' experience in Oracle RDBMS (ODB) is an advantage. 3 years' experience in JBoss Application Server (JAS) is an advantage. 2 years' experience in Apache Web Server (AWS) is an advantage. Non-Technical Skills At least 3 years' experience in IT audit (ITA). Good spoken English is a must.
