Entry-Level Telecommunications LinemanSLICFiber is seeking a motivated and dependable Entry-Level Telecommunications Lineman to join our growing team in Upstate New York. This position plays a critical role in the construction, installation, and maintenance of SLICFiber's Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, eager to learn, and interested in building a long-term career in the telecommunications and fiber optics industry.This is an entry-level role with on-the-job training provided.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the construction, installation, and maintenance of aerial and underground fiber optic facilities for Fiber to the Home (FTTH) networksPerform work on utility poles, strand, and related hardware under the direction of experienced linemenAssist with fiber placement, lashing, splicing preparation, and basic testingSafely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment used in fiber installationFollow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety procedures at all timesRead and interpret basic construction prints, maps, and work ordersWork outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain throughout Upstate New YorkMaintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean and working conditionInteract professionally with team members, supervisors, and customers when requiredParticipate in training programs to develop fiber, safety, and lineman skillsSome overtime, weekend, or Holiday work may be required, as well as "on Call".RequirementsEntry-level position: prior telecommunications or construction experience is a plus but not requiredValid driver's license with a clean driving record requiredCDL preferred but not requiredAbility to work at heights and climb poles while wearing appropriate safety equipmentAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.Ability to work in confined spacesWillingness to work outdoors year-round in all weather conditionsBasic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skillsStrong work ethic, reliability, and attention to safetySalary Description $22.00 - $26.00 per hour based on experience
