Assistant Director of Olympic Sports Performance (Soccer)

The Assistant Director of Olympic Sports Performance reports to the Assistant Athletic Director of Olympic Sports Performance and assists in all aspects of sports performance for Northwestern Olympic Sports programs. This position is responsible for developing programs that enhance the strength, conditioning and movement development of student-athletes and will work collaboratively with the Sports Medicine and Performance Nutrition staff to ensure the health, safety, and performance of student-athletes. Willingness and ability to work non-traditional schedule including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Some travel required. Responsible for adhering to all Department and University policies and procedures, as well as the rules, regulations, bylaws and interpretations of the Big Ten Conference, CSC, and the NCAA. Responsibilities Develop strength and conditioning programs for male and female student-athletes with review from the Assistant Athletic Director of Olympic Sports Performance. Supervises and coordinates strength and conditioning programs for men's and women's sports as required. Performs strength testing and evaluation as assigned. Oversees strength and conditioning programs which elicit safe and correct execution of exercise technique. Effectively communicates with athletic trainers and coaches on exercise protocol; Promotes the Olympic Sports Performance program during the recruitment of prospective student-athletes and for external constituents, as needed. Represents the Department at University, Big Ten Conference, and national-level conferences and professional development opportunities as assigned by the Director of Sports Performance. Responsible for adhering to all Department and University continuing education initiatives and required certifications and trainings. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a sports performance coach. Ability to lift 25 pounds. Prior experience working with Women’s and or Men’s Soccer. Prior experience working with wearable technology (Catapult, Polar, etc..). Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the NSCA or certification through the IUSCA before employment starting date and maintained throughout appointment. Maintenance of CPR, AED and First Aid training required. Ability to work cooperatively with others and effectively interact and establish engaging relationships with a wide variety of constituents. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree preferred. Prior experience working with Force Plate technology preferred. Previous sports performance coaching experience with collegiate student-athletes preferred. Knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, CSC, Big Ten Conference and Northwestern University preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr Northwestern University
