Personal Banker Associate I - North Michigan Road

Personal Banker I – Indianapolis, Indiana Overview Selected candidates will become a Retail Personal Banker I after a 4‑8 week onboarding and education program that includes rotations in operations and Sales & Service. The role focuses on using a consultative sales process to identify and meet the financial needs of customers, and on acquiring new households while deepening existing relationships through a variety of activities such as lobby leadership, aisle time, and tele‑consulting. Responsibilities Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build thorough customer profiles and identify current and future financial needs. Maintain in‑depth knowledge of Retail consumer and small business products/services and recommend appropriate solutions. Utilize CAMP and approved marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews. Focus on cross‑selling to existing customer base and engaging in outside sales activities such as Membership Advantage presentations, business sales calls, and community financial literacy events. Establish close working relationships with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial and Investment) and refer customers for holistic financial solutions. Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and production goals, contributing to year‑over‑year revenue growth measured by the Financial Center P&L. Provide guidance to CSRs on the sales and referral process. Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor and professionalism. Act confidently by answering customer questions and owning customer issues. Maintain confidentiality of all business information. Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and all related policies. Adhere to established policies while opening/servicing the full range of Retail products. Participate in the consumer loan and bankcard process, owning sourced loans from application through closing. Participate in the opening/closing process of the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed by the Manager. Keep up to date on Retail procedures to mitigate fraudulent activity and unnecessary risk. Qualifications College degree or equivalent work experience providing transferable skills. Preferred experience in the financial industry. Demonstrated ability to develop comfort with sales activities to acquire new consumer households and small business customers and to cross‑sell to established customers. Proficiency in advanced math functions necessary for credit and financial analysis. Professional appearance and verbal/written communication skills. Working knowledge of Retail policies and procedures to exercise sound judgment. Must possess S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Preferred bilingual ability in English and Spanish. Ability to travel within the affiliate for training and to attend additional classroom training sessions. Work Conditions Normal office environment with extended computer screen use. Requires flexibility for training and travel within or outside the affiliate.
