This role works closely with veterinarians to perform advanced diagnostics, treatments, anesthesia monitoring, and supportive care while ensuring compassionate patient care and excellent client communication. Responsibilities Provide compassionate nursing care to emergency and hospitalized patients throughout treatment and recovery. Place IV catheters, collect blood samples, administer medications, and manage IV fluid therapy. Assist with emergency diagnostics, treatments, and supportive care procedures. Monitor anesthesia and assist with emergency and surgical procedures. Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and promptly communicate changes in patient condition. Safely restrain and handle patients while maintaining comfort and minimizing stress. Assist with post‑operative patient monitoring and recovery. Accurately document treatments, diagnostics, and patient observations within medical records. Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, and clients regarding patient care plans. Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked treatment and emergency areas. Qualifications Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) preferred. Experienced Veterinary Technicians with a minimum of two years of veterinary experience are encouraged to apply. Previous emergency or specialty veterinary experience preferred. Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, medication administration, and patient monitoring. Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical assistance preferred. Knowledge of radiology safety and fluid therapy. Experience administering medications via SQ, IM, and IV routes. Proficiency in phlebotomy, catheter placement, and patient restraint techniques. Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced emergency environment. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure. Fluent English speaking and reading skills required. Location: Grapevine, TX (serving the DFW Metroplex).
