Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Plate Group is seeking qualified applications for the posting of Material Specialist. Principal duties include but are not limited to:

1. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
2. Identify what is needed from Plate Group Divisions to be supplier approved.
3. Own coordination between divisions and suppliers to help with smooth communication and execution.
4. Bridge commercial quality and operations gaps around supplier requirements.
5. Specialize in Armor initially but could expand to other plate group supplier approvals such as wind and API.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in related field
• 3 years in supplier quality
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Defense supplier qualification experience
• Wind & API qualification experience
